“Dogs are not our whole life but they make our life whole”
-Roger Caras
Studies have shown that involving dogs with boys in a correctional setting teaches; patience, understanding, unconditional love, compassion, kindness and enhances job skills. Our program allows boys to work with dogs from our local shelters.
Boys who are progressing toward their case plan goals are encouraged to participate if time within their schedule allows. Second Chances has 2 dogs: an Australian Shepard and Terrier mix- Ruby; and a Pug Pit bull mix- Max.
